The 18 years old finnish talnet, Toomas Heikkinen joins in the Finnish championship and in the ERC round in Finland on July 10-11th with Eklund Motorsport. The team plans to start in the Swedish ERC round in Höljes and plans others rounds after the end of the Finnsih championship.
"I started driving go-kart when I was nine years old. An important matter was that my club, Joensuu Auto Sport club, was organizing go-karting again after a long break at the same time as I was starting my hobby. It was great to drive on the Ylämylly track in Joensuu Auto Sport Club’s own races and we visited a lot of other tracks with my dad, as well.
The next stages in Raket junior and Raket classes also went very well, and so it was time to steer a stronger wheel in ICA junior. The last two seasons in this class have been a good time to learn and develop, and last season 2006 I came in third place in the Finnish Championships in ICA junior (ICA/J).
This season, 2007, I’ve moved up one class, to ICA, and I'm investing my time mainly in the Italian go-kart series, which gives you the best experience and routine that you can get"- said Toomas.
