Kamil Sokolowski has plans with his new Skoda Fabia!

Kamil Sokolowski has plans with his new Skoda Fabia! What is your carreer in motorsport? When did you begin?

I began my carreer in Motorpsort in 2003 when I drove first time a real rally.

As I remember it was Warszawska Barbórka Rally, it’s a very famous rally in Poland. Drivers from whole motorsport disciplines are driving this rally at the end of the season.

What kind of car will you drive in season 2010?

This season I will drive the New Skoda Fabia with 1600 engine in division 1A. The body is the same as in Super 2000. The engine is made by my father and it generates about 225 HP and 195 NM, it will work with a Sadev ST 75-14 gearbox.

I’m very happy to be able to drive this car this year.  Skoda Fabia is different from Felicia (my old car) in 100%. Everything is different, gearbox, suspension, engine, brakes… everything.

When will your Fabia be ready?

The new Skoda Fabia is still in parts.I hope it will be ready to the end of May. During March we will make a lot of tests to set up all systems, and find all errors in the car.

On what races will you drive, what are your plans, expectations? How many ERC, CEZ rounds?

Last year in ERC I drove Skoda Felicia because the team wanted to learn for the  2010 season. I would like to start the season on the 4th round, at Nyirád in Hungary on the 5-6th of June. Before that I want to start one time in Polish Rallycross, because I want to test my car in fight .

This season is very important for me because with the new car I should be faster than the past year. I hope to be in the first ten, but it depends on a few things. I like racing in the rain a lot, but last year it was raining only in Slomczyn and only during the first day. I remember I was eighth on the free practice, so with the car which engine generate only 175 HP it was fast .

I think I will drive on CEZ rounds in Poland, but I get money from my sponsors only for ERC. In Poland, it's very difficult to get sponsors, nobody believes in motorsport marketing, that's why I won't race the whole season. I would like to thank the companies like: Inter-Team, Sachs and Shell, my mainly sponsors for 2010, for sponsoring my team this year.

Hardest opponent for 2010?

In this season I want to fight more - as everybody.

I  think first ten guys in div 1A are so fast that everyone of them can win. So if I will be able to get to the first ten, I will be satisfied. Of course I want to win, I want it very much but I think not this season. I always remember the Ayrton Senna quote:

“With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.”

Racing, competing is a part of my life, during the season I have to organize my life in different way than normal person. Most of the things connected with racing I’m doing with my father. I have also special training on gym.

My adventure with motorsports starts when I was little boy, my father drove in Polish national rallies so it was natural that I grew up in atmosphere of racing…

This season is the most important in my career so I try to give 100% from me to show everyone that I am professional guy with something more than the passion of driving.
